反課綱黑箱微調民眾與學生30日佔領教育部大門外廣場，1日上午現場約有100多名學生及社運團體持續靜坐，現場剛宣布，下午反課綱團體將發表聯合聲明，進行全台串聯。
教育部前廣場的反課綱行動邁入第2天，相較於7月31日凌晨的衝撞，上午教育部前的氣氛顯得和緩，警方也以安全為由，撤除教育部正門的拒馬、蛇籠，方便群眾與教育部人員進出。
北市警中正一分局副局長李權哲表示，目前白天約出動300名警力，晚上則約250名維護現場秩序，每班原則12小時。
反課綱團體堅持「課綱不退，我們不退」，並持續靜坐教育部前廣場。從7月31日深夜至8月1日上午，學生與群眾在教育部前鋪睡袋、紙箱休息，並未與警方發生任何衝突，雙方平和。
新版課綱雖然爭議不斷，但仍於8月1日正式上路。不過13個綠營縣市仍沿用舊版現行課綱，包括宜蘭縣、基隆市、桃園市、新竹市、台中市、彰化縣、雲林縣、嘉義縣、嘉義市、台南市、高雄市、屏東縣、澎湖縣。
台北市、新北市、連江縣、金門縣、台東縣、新竹縣、苗栗縣採新舊課綱並行；完全採用新課綱的只有國民黨執政的南投縣，花蓮縣則還未確定。
